The exhibition dedicated to Alfred (alias Lionel Papagalli) celebrates the visionary talent of one of the most promising authors of the French contemporary comics landscape. By entering the areas dedicated to Alfred, visitors have the chance to experience a journey, which serves as a bridge between French and Italy. The entire exhibition is a legacy of the artistic relation between French and Italy, fostered by original panels and archive materials. This type of relationship is thoroughly illustrated in some books of his, such as “Come prima” , “Maltempo” and “l’intimo Senso” . An “Italian trilogy”, in which the Mediterranean atmospheres, urban and natural landscapes become a suggestive setting for stories that interlink memories and identity, family bonds and human weaknesses, desires and silence. Alfred’s style turns these outstanding worlds into deep emotional experiences, capable of going beyond the mere geographic and cultural borders.
