Bragging a career built upon comics and illustrations, Grazia La Padula achieved a full awareness of her aesthetic and drawing techniques, always trying to harness her full potential, going beyond what she already obtained.
Her comics have been pusblished by famous French and Italian editors, while her illustrations have been displayed in the main national cultural magazines. However, La Padula’s works show a strong connection to her personal life. Her concept idea relies on the drawing act as a source of untouchable communication, reshaping lives and give them back in a total new way, in which audience can mirror themselves. Her works fascinate enthusiasts with the beauty of her traits and colors, creating an innner dialogue, which makes a profound feeling brewing into the audience, linking them together.
The exhibition Disegnare l’inafferrabile (Drawing the untouchable) aims to narrate the unique art style of La Padula, through a displaying journey that covers all her comics and illustrations works. From her debut in the bande dessinée to her endless career working for several magazines, from the narrative voyage behind her works, to portrait that are a legacy of her constant expressive act of discovery, from the portrait of VIPs, to the panels of the awarded Diario di una cagna, and, finally, to the unreleased images of her latest work, Les insoumises, which will be published by the French editor Futuropolis.
