Before becoming a global phenomenon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was an independent work, born in 1974 from the collaboration between Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The first concept was completely different from the one that years later became a Tv phenomenon with its official merchandise. The original Tutles were in black and white, surrounded by an ironic and bleak setting, which mirrored the style of the underground editorial landscape of that time. The exhibition displays some works of the first comic-run, which show a raw energy, visual trial and the use of a Duo-Shade paper, bringing to life an unique and never-seen-before style. It is a journey that takes visitors to the discovery of a worldwide success, when the self-production and creative freedom were the cornerstones of the editorial landscape.
