Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with Panini Comics is honored to welcome Sensei Tetsuo Hara to Italy for the first time. All of this is also possible thanks to COAMIX Inc. (Publisher of the Sensei and the first Japanese publishing house here at Lucca Comics & Games) and Animeimport

On the occasion of his long-awaited participation at Lucca Comics & Games 2025, Tetsuo Hara, the author of Hokuto no Ken, (Fist of the North Star) presents a work of art titled The Savior in the Arena that celebrates the connection between the narrative world and the Italian audience. This magnificent oil painting (about 70 x 60 cm) blends the iconic strength of Kenshiro with the suggestiveness of the great Italian artistic traditions: painting, sculpture, classic architecture and iconographic symbolism. At the center of the scene, Kenshiro stands colossal in an amphitheatre, surrounded by red banners and bathed in heavenly light during which he collects the helmet of the newly defeated enemy. This is a picture full of meaning and it is the result of an in-depth research based on historical Italian sources.

This work will also be the central piece of the monographic exhibition Tetsuo Hara: Like a bolt from the blue. It will be the first exhibition in the world fully dedicated to the main works of Tetsuo Hara, hosted within the wonderful Renaissance setting of Chiesa di Santa Annunziata dei Servi in Lucca, from October 25th to November 2nd, 2025

More than 100 original paintings and manga panels will be showcased here, which will offer a unique insight into the artistic and storytelling evolution of the Sensei.
