Miyako Cojima

Guest - Miyako Cojima

Miyako Cojima is a Japanese horror manga artist active since the 1990s, whose work blends eerie atmospheres with refined visual elegance, creating stories that both unsettle and captivate.
In the 1990s she collaborated with Marvel in Japan, producing official illustrations for the X-Men. In 2001 she published L’inferno delle vergini (The Virgin’s Hell), an anthology of horror stories that established her as a distinctive new voice in the genre. In 2024, the book was translated and released in Italy by Hikari Edizioni. In 2010 she contributed to Neko Manga Da Nyan, a cat-themed anthology also featuring Junji Ito.
She has also pursued an artistic path linked to erotic and fetish imagery, with exhibitions at Ginza’s Vanilla Gallery. In 2011 she supervised The Evil Shrine – Portrait of the Whisperers in the Darkness, an artbook inspired by the Lovecraftian mythos.
Miyako Cojima will attend Lucca Comics & Games 2025. On this occasion, Hikari Edizioni will present La casa degli orrori, published in two editions (regular and variant). In addition, two exclusive numbered and signed prints by the artist will be available.
