Norman England

Guest - Norman England

Norman England is an American director, photographer, and journalist who has lived and worked in Japan for over twenty-five years. A key figure in Japanese genre cinema, he closely documented the sets of Godzilla and other Toho productions, creating photographs that have become essential references for kaijū eiga fans and scholars worldwide.
From 1999 to 2012 he was a regular contributor to Fangoria magazine, covering Japanese horror and fantasy cinema. In parallel, he pursued his own filmmaking career: his sci-fi horror feature The iDol (2006), shot in Tokyo, screened at numerous international festivals.
England has also published books and essays compiling his on-set experiences, offering a rare insider’s perspective on contemporary Japanese cinema.
Norman England will attend Lucca Comics & Games 2025. On this occasion, Hikari Edizioni will present an photographic portfolio, featuring selected images from the film sets he worked on, available as a limited edition.
