Takeyasu Sawaki is an acclaimed Japanese game director, character designer, and artist, known for his unique visual style and his contributions to landmark video game titles.

His career took off at Capcom, where he played a pivotal role in defining the aesthetics of globally successful franchises. He was the lead artist behind the iconic character designs for the Devil May Cry series and made significant contributions to the monster design and unmistakable art style of the masterpiece Ōkami. He also worked on the mecha design for Steel Battalion.

Following his time at Capcom and Clover Studio, Sawaki founded his own development studio, Crim, to bring a more personal and authorial vision to life. With Crim, he directed and designed El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, an action game that achieved cult-classic status thanks to its revolutionary art direction and evocative narrative.

His distinctive style, which blends mythology, elegance, and a constant pursuit of visual innovation, makes him one of the most recognizable and respected creative figures in the Japanese game design landscape.
