A four-day presence, three meetings at the most prestigious festival locations, more than 300 signings, 2 COAMIX Shops, and more than 100 original panels displayed in the first global exhibition entirely dedicated to his main works. These extraordinary figures mark the awaited Tetsuo Hara’s first time in Italy as a Lucca Comics & Games guest, thanks to the collaboration between Panini Comics, COAMIX Inc. and Animeimport.
More than 2000 people are going to meet him during public events, signing sessions, and appointments with the press. In addition, the monograph exhibition Tetsuo Hara – Come un fulmine dal cielo (Like a bolt from the blue), will be held in Chiesa dei Servi, from October 25th up to November 2nd, providing more than 100 brand-new and exclusive merchandise. Considered as a Living legend of the manga genre, Hara is, alongside with Buronson, the creator of Hokuto no Ken, one of the most iconic and inspiring works of the Japanese comics, counting more than 100 million copies sold worldwide. Author of cult series, such as Sōten no Ken and Hana no Keiji, Tetsuo Hara continues to inspire generations of artists and readers. In the last few years, no authors have been as committed as him to the audience, making his presence at Lucca Comics & Games a once-in-a-lifetime event.
TETSUO HARA: MEETING HIS FANS
Tetsuo Hara Sensei will be the protagonist of three unmissable appointments organized by Lucca Comics & Games. The audience have the chance to meet one of the greatest masters of the contemporary manga genre.
- The first meeting, Maxi Showcase – Tetsuo Hara, is scheduled for Friday, October 31st, at 11am, in Auditorium San Romano. Author of amazing masterpieces, such as Hokuto no Ken, Hana no Keiji and Sōten no Ken, Tetsuo Hara will perform a drawing live session, diving into his authorial career and his artistic worlds.
- On Saturday, November 1st, at 10 am, the Creatori di Mondi. Conversazione tra Tetsuo Hara, Igort e John Romita Jr. (Worlds Creators. A Conversation between Tetsuo Hara, Igort and John Romita Jr.) exhibition, will take place at Teatro del Giglio Giacomo Puccini. The event will uncover the imaginary eastern world, which has influenced the unique style and design of Tetsuo Hara, and the fictional power of John Romita Jr., whose works have reshaped the American hero through his powerful and human trait. Igort, serving as a “ModerAuthor”, will assist them in narrating their works, and what were the ideas behind the characters that have captivated entire generations of readers.
- On Sunday 2nd, November, 10:30am, Sensei Hara will be the protagonist of the Il ritratto di un mito: da Hokuto no Ken a Tetsuo Hara (A myth portrait: from Hokuto no Ken to Tetsuo Hara) event, held at Teatro del Giglio. The event will retrace the story that led Tetsuo Hara bring to life one of the most iconic characters of the manga world.
These three appointments are on reservation only. The guide to the purchase is available here. It is necessary to sign in on the Eventbrite website few days before the event starting date. The voucher can be picked up at the dedicated location, showing the reservation and a valid regular or season ticket. The uncollected vouchers will be redistributed, while stocks last, to the visitors owing a valid ticket. The access to the location will be granted only showing the voucher and festival entry ticket.
LA MOSTRA– TETSUO HARA: COME UN FULMINE DAL CIELO (THE EXHIBITION – TETSUO HARA: LIKE A BOLT FROM THE BLUE)
From October 25th, up to November 2nd the splendid renaissance setting of Chiesa dei Servi will be the core of the monograph “Tetsuo Hara: Come un fulmine dal cielo” (Like a bolt from the blue). Besides the majestic oil on canvas “The Savior of the Arena”, 100 original paintings and manga panels will be displayed, offering, for the first time, an unprecedented insight about the artistic and narrative evolution of the Sensei style. On Thursday 30th, Friday 31th and Saturday 1st Panini – Planet Manga will organize 3 sessions giving to 106 people per day (counting a total of 318 people) the chance to win a printed, Panini certified and signed by Tetsuo Hara himself Shikishi.
